Kelly Beaudin Stapleton has represented all stakeholders as a financial advisor in the areas of retail, manufacturing and logistics regarding a variety of financial and legal issues. She has represented creditors and debtors alike in reorganizations, liquidations, 363 sales and fraud investigations.

Before she became a financial advisor, Stapleton was appointed by then-U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft as the United States Trustee for Region 3, where she was charged with the protection of the integrity of the bankruptcy system for Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. As trustee, Kelly managed five state offices and was accountable for all bankruptcies filed in the three states. She is responsible for hundreds of significant business and corporate restructurings including New Century Financial, Dura Automotive Systems, Sharper Image Corp. and countless other major filings, working with distressed companies, creditors and lenders in a range of industries.

Kelly was in private law practice for more than 10 years at the law firms of Stapleton and Stapleton and Drinker Biddle in Pennsylvania, and began her career prosecuting cases as an assistant district attorney in Philadelphia.

She is active in the American Bankruptcy Institute and the Pennsylvania Bar. She serves as co-chair of two national American Bankruptcy Institute committees and is on the Advisory Board of the ABI Mid-Atlantic. She co-chaired the Women in the Profession of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and is currently on its Executive Council.

Kelly holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles and J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. She is a frequent lecturer on restructuring nationally, has been featured on Bloomberg and serves on the board of the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia.
