Frederick
Slamin, who came to Morris-Anderson
& Associates in 1987, specializes in financial analysis
as the basis for development of profit planning, cash
management and cost-control programs. He has diversified
experience with medium-sized companies.
With Morris-Anderson & Associates,
Mr. Slamin has completed consulting engagements and
interim-management assignments. Consulting engagements
include preparing and implementing turnaround plans
in garment, foundry, construction, electronics, metal
fabrication, commercial printing and polystyrene foam-products
industries. He has served as interim CEO for garment
and paper manufacturers, a meat packer and a mail-order
business. He has provided litigation support and expert
testimony in several bankruptcy-related matters, and
has presided over two bankruptcy liquidations.
Previously, Mr. Slamin was President of
JRR Construction Company, specializing in government
contracting. At the same time, he served as CFO of a
larger affiliated contractor. Mr. Slamins efforts
emphasized cost estimating, cost monitoring and cash
management.
From 1973 through 1984, Mr. Slamin was
Vice President and CFO of Southbend Escan Corporation,
a major manufacturer of food-service equipment. In a
highly leveraged environment, he successfully negotiated
borrowing agreements to support relocation of its manufacturing
to the Sunbelt and the financing of a Canadian acquisition.
During this period, he implemented and managed a successful
budget and profit-planning system.
Mr. Slamin, a CPA, was an Audit Manager
with Price Waterhouse and Co. prior to 1973. He is a
1963 graduate of the University of Notre Dame.
