Tim Shaffer is a Certified Turnaround Professional and Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor with more than 26 years' experience in business and real estate finance. He has consulted and managed distressed and insolvent companies; worked with law firms to support trial and litigation actions; and maintained a high level of involvement in the insolvency and restructuring field.

Most recently, Tim was executive vice president of Venture Commercial Mortgage, LLC in Scottsdale, Ariz. From 2002 to 2006, he worked as a restructuring consultant for CBIZ Restructuring Group, and from 1995 to 2001, he was a court-appointed manager at American Broadcasting Systems, Inc. From 1977 to 1995, Tim was a principal at various independent ventures, mainly in the areas of oil/gas and media.

Tim's extensive list of accomplishments include negotiating the sale and purchase of more than 17 business operations that were acquired at distressed sales, making them profitable within 18 months of operation. He successfully developed and integrated an approved plan of reorganization in a liquidating Chapter 11 bankruptcy case, increasing liquidation assets for distribution to more than $13 million from $3.5 million, resulting in a 100-percent payout of unsecured creditors. And as an operations manager, he maintained and operated 205 producing oil and gas wells.

Tim has a master's degree in business administration from Arizona State University and a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Kansas.
