Tim Czmiel is one of less than 450 Certified Turnaround Professionals (CTP) in the United States. In 2002, the Turnaround Management Association named Tim recipient of its national “Small (under $50 million) Company Turnaround of the Year Award” for his performance as interim CEO of a manufacturing company.

Tim began his career in restructuring in 1987 in the special assets department of a financial institution where he focused on commercial and large scale residential real estate workouts, served middle-market companies by arranging credit facilities at the investment banking firm of Hindin/Owen/Engelke, refined his skills as a Director at Arthur Andersen, LLP in the Corporate Restructuring Practice and as a Partner at BDO Seidman, LLP in the Financial Recovery Services Practice. He co-founded or founded special purpose entities, including Magna Partners, LLC and Heartland Capital, LLC, to provide strategic advisory and interim management services. He has been an advisor to private and public companies in a wide variety of industries with a particular emphasis in manufacturing, health care and real estate.

Tim has been a speaker at industry conferences and has been published in Institutional Investor and the Commercial Lending Review. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from DePaul University and an MBA from Northwestern University’s J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management. He was awarded a Certificate in Advanced Strategy from INSEAD Euro-Asian Centre in Fontainebleau, France. In addition, Tim has served as a board member of the Association of Certified Turnaround Professionals.
