Robert Wanat, CTP, specializes in business turnarounds, crisis management and process improvement. He has extensive hands-on experience in operations management, process analysis and trouble shooting, inventory control, JIT, ERP, supply chain and accounting systems development, strategic planning and corporate restructuring, cost and activity-based accounting, and back-office customer service and support activities. In the inventory control area, he has implemented demand forecasting systems, Kanban Inventory Pull Systems and Lean Manufacturing Methodologies. Mr. Wanat has more than 25 years experience in manufacturing and distribution environments in both Senior Corporate/line management positions and consulting capacities as a results-oriented leader. His accomplishments include more than 100 successful profit-improvement turnarounds and corporate restructurings for manufacturing, distribution, process, foundry, textile, printing and service companies.

Mr. Wanat first joined Morris-Anderson & Associates in 1991. Before joining the firm, he was Principal-in-Charge of Friedman, Eisenstein, Raemer & Schartz’s (FERS) Operations Consulting Group, where he directed a wide range of consulting engagements, including company turnarounds and workouts, process/profit improvement re-engineering programs, manufacturing control system implementations, lead-time and inventory reduction, due diligence-operations reviews, and organizational restructuring analyses. Earlier, he was Manager of the Midwest Operations Consulting Group for Grant Thornton International. He has also worked for Motorola, Inc., Wofac Company, Sanford Ink, Inc., and Benton, Schneider & Associates in various Vice President, senior operations and line-management positions.

In 1999, Mr. Wanat assumed the Executive Vice President Operations and Manufacturing Services position for an underperforming, vertically integrated textile company, where he assisted in restructuring the company’s manufacturing processes, reducing inventory and implementing Kanban and JIT processes to improve customer-service levels and meet market requirements. He returned to Morris-Anderson & Associates in 2001.

Mr. Wanat holds Bachelor’s and MBA degrees from Northern Illinois University, with concentration in operations research and industrial engineering. He has been active in APICS (American Production Inventory Control Society), Illinois Manufacturers Association, and served on the Board of Directors for the United Way of Suburban Chicago.
