Bruce C. Paul is a seasoned chief financial officer with experience in manufacturing, operations and information technology. His skill set includes developing talent in organizations; integrating acquired operations; crisis management under adverse conditions; and improving quality of management and working capital.
Mr. Paul’s vast executive experience includes acting as CFO of a $125 million manufacturer serving the largest retailers in the United States, as CFO of a $600 million consumer products company facing default on public debt, and as CFO of a $350 million NASDAQ-listed telecom equipment supplier. As CFO and CIO of a $400 million private family company with a public subsidiary, he led efforts to upgrade methods, developed a strategic information technology plan, and then rationalized European subsidiaries onsite by consolidating operations, negotiating redundancies, selling assets and completing the 15-month program under budget and ahead of schedule. As a consultant he has been responsible for assessing the viability of and/or liquidating non-viable companies as well as bringing a $100 million manufacturing company out of Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Before he became a consultant, Mr. Paul worked for International Harvester Company/Navistar International from 1979 until 1991. As director of international business development, he led a cross-functional team in assessing business expansion into Asia, evaluating technical, logistical, political and financial options. His roles with the company included leadership in the company’s celebrated financial restructurings and operational streamlining as well as controller of purchasing, CFO of the Information Technology Group, general manager of MIS Operations, and crisis cash management.
Mr. Paul worked as a financial analyst and supervisor for Ford Motor Co. from 1976 until 1979 and as a business analyst and project manager with Singer Aerospace from 1973 until 1976.
Mr. Paul holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology (with minors in philosophy and accounting) from Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Ind., where he was a fellow in the Honor’s College. He also holds a master’s degree in finance from American University in Washington, D.C. He has received professional, technical and teambuilding training from multiple companies and institutions, including MIT, IBM and AT&T. Mr. Paul’s Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP) designation is pending. He is a member of the Turnaround Management Association. |
